The Odisha government has taken a pioneering step in the healthcare sector by signing agreements with private partners to develop healthcare facilities in Public-Private Partnership (PPP) mode. These agreements aim to establish 100 to 200 bedded affordable multi-specialty hospitals in Angul, Barbil, Bhadrak, and Jharsuguda. Additionally, a cancer care super specialty hospital will also be set up in Jharsuguda.
This initiative marks the first time that any state government in India has ventured into PPP mode for developing healthcare infrastructure. The collaboration with private partners will help improve the accessibility and affordability of quality healthcare services in these regions.
The multi-specialty hospitals in Angul, Barbil, Bhadrak, and Jharsuguda will provide a range of medical services to the local population, ensuring they have access to essential healthcare within their vicinity. The hospitals are expected to have advanced facilities, including specialized departments for various medical specialties.
The cancer care super specialty hospital in Jharsuguda will focus on providing state-of-the-art treatment and care for cancer patients. This facility will be equipped with advanced technology and experienced medical professionals to offer comprehensive cancer treatment and support.
The PPP model will involve private partners contributing to the development and management of these healthcare facilities, while the Odisha government will provide the necessary infrastructure support and ensure quality healthcare delivery. This collaborative approach is expected to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of healthcare services in the state.
The agreements signed by the Odisha government demonstrate its commitment to improving healthcare infrastructure and addressing the healthcare needs of its citizens. These initiatives are expected to bring significant benefits to the communities in Angul, Barbil, Bhadrak, and Jharsuguda, as well as cancer patients in Jharsuguda and nearby.
These projects shall be developed with an investment of close to ₹500 Cr and generate job opportunities for 3500+ medical, para-medical, nursing & administrative professionals.
